Peripatetic series

Life not born of concept, but by the very act of moving.

Movement brings life into our images by activating the eye of the camera itself. This agency frees the camera and offers the operator a poetic and bodily connection to the images. Handheld operation and the Steadicam both uniquely embed humanity into our images via direct, physical performance breathing life back into the frame.

For me, this becomes a choreographed or improvised performance that reflects my own physical presence and relationship to the space. The Peripatetic series records my uncut navigation through spaces, corridors, landscapes, etc.; each work features a single unbroken shot and an original score created using field recordings and audio synthesis.
